HWR developed the INOFlex® 4-jaw chuck to take full advantage of the capabilities of modern machine tools. INOFlex® provides compensating centric clamping of round, rectangular and irregularly shaped parts.

Ideal for parts ranging from Ø 160 – 1200 mm, INOFlex® combines the advantages of  2-, 3- and 4-jaw chucks in one product. Through its patented compensation feature, it quickly centers and securely holds parts, without the risk of deformation.

How it works

In a conventional chuck, all drive parts move in the same direction around the center (e.g. wedge bar, wedge hook, scroll). The concentric compensation drive of the INOFlex®-4-jaw chuck allows the jaws to move on two parallel axes. Compensation is provided by connecting the diametrically opposed slides with levers and a sliding gate-type gear. This compensating technology allows round, rectangular and irregularly shaped workpieces to be machined concentric to the clamping device/ rotary axis in both turning and milling operations.
